Department
of Defense Purchases IQ Biometrix Technology
FREMONT,
Calif. - April 12, 2004
IQ Biometrix Inc, today announced that a Department of Defense
unit has purchased FACES 4.0 suspect composite technology
to train U.S. and international military specialists.
This
year 150 specialists will be trained and receive FACES technology
to use in field operations.
The
IQ Biometrix FACES(TM) system allows photo-like images of
suspects to be created on a computer by selecting from a
database of 4400 facial features. This capability means
that anti-terrorism specialists, just like the civilian
police, can create a facial composite -- regardless of their
artistic skills or experience. It allows composites to be
developed without the cost or delay of using a professional
sketch artist.
FACES
is currently used by thousands of policing agencies worldwide,
including the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal
Bureau of Investigation
