IQ
Biometrix Partners with CTS Associates Inc. to Deliver Counter-Terrorism
Training Strategy
FREMONT,
Calif., Aug. 15, 2003
IQ Biometrix Inc. IQBM, a worldwide provider of integrated
law enforcement and security solutions, announced today
a partnership with CTS Associates Inc. to provide terrorist
training to law enforcement agencies across the US.
"IQ
Biometrix and CTS are joining forces to answer an immediate
and critical need of local governments: ensuring their police
are ready to serve as the front line in the war against
terrorism," said William Scigliano, CEO and President
of IQBM. "The Department of Homeland Security has directed
municipalities to take a key role in preparing for, preventing
and responding to terrorist attacks. Meeting that responsibility
requires police officers to be trained to identify potential
terrorist threats, ensure rapid communication to establish
coordinated pre-emptive action, and if the worse happens,
to minimize harm and loss of life."
"CTS
Associates Inc. has extensive experience in law enforcement
training and consultation on special police and military
services, and currently delivers programs to thousands of
law enforcement and defense personnel across the country
on terrorism and counter-terrorism training," said
Allan Balchi, founder of CTS and a United States Marine
Corps veteran with 23 years of active service. "Our
strength is delivering quality, cost-effective training
enhancing the overall capabilities of our clients."
"What
CTS does is simply share all the practical actionable experience
we have accumulated through knowledge, experience and performance,"
said Louis Savelli, Senior Instructor at CTS and member
of the International Counter-Terrorism Officers Association.
"We welcome IQBM's involvement in currently scheduled
courses and the extension of that training through all regions
of the country."
Terrorism and counter-terrorism programs delivered by CTS
include:
- Contemporary
terrorism understanding and investigation
- Tactics and understanding for patrol personnel
- Terrorist/extremist interdiction
- Hostage negotiation tactics and techniques
- Critical incident reporting
- Intelligence and link analysis
- Interview and interrogation techniques
- Narcoterrorism
The IQBM/CTS training strategy is being developed for full
implementation in Fall 2003. Municipal or law enforcement
agencies requiring further information on CTS courses and
