IQ Biometrix appoints Morden C. Lazarus
to Chairman of the Board of Directors
CUPERTINO, Calif.,Feb. 21, 2003
IQ Biometrix Inc. IQBM, a worldwide provider of integrated
law enforcement and security solutions, announced today
the appointment of Morden C. Lazarus to the position of
Chairman of the Board of Directors.
"Mr. Lazarus will help IQ Biometrix
accelerate its entry into new markets, including private
sector security," said CEO William Scigliano. "The
appointment is part of our strategy to build on our foundation
technologies and partnerships to provide customized, integrated
responses to both law enforcement and security needs."
Former Chair Eric McAfee will continue to
serve on the IQ Biometrix Board of Directors.
Morden C. Lazarus founded the law firm of
Lazarus Charbonneau in 1967. He has acted as legal counsel
to the Royal Bank of Canada for a period in excess of 25
years. He has acted as legal counsel to many casino properties
and is the only Canadian gaming lawyer to have been appointed
a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Association
of Gaming Attorneys ("IAGA"), based in Las Vegas,
Nevada. He was named Secretary of "IAGA" in September
of 2002 and will occupy the office of President of "IAGA"
in the fall of 2004.
He is a member of the Board of Directors
of DPC Biosciences Corporation, a public company, whose
shares are traded on TSX ("Toronto Venture Stock Exchange"),
Anchor Gaming (Canada) Inc. and United Tote (Canada) Inc.,
subsidiaries of International Game Technology (IGT). He
is also presently chairman and CEO of ISee3D Inc. (formerly
"International Telepresence (Canada) Inc."), a
public company, whose shares are traded on the TSX. In the
past, he was appointed by the Quebec Cabinet to the Board
of Directors and executive committee of Soci?t? de d?veloppement
industriel du Qu?bec (now "Investissement Qu?bec"),
the province?s largest Crown corporation, where he served
for approximately six years.
Mr. Lazarus is associated with many charitable
groups and institutions. He is a past recipient of the "Man
of the Year" award for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
