TIPS & TRICKS - HOW TO CREATE A COMPOSITE

This
tutorial will show you how to create a composite.
To
create a face, click on one of the category icons (see #1)
such as eyes, nose, mouth, etc. You will then see different
options for that category. Use the arrows at the bottom
(#2) to scroll through all the options. When you select
and click on the feature you want, (#3) it will appear in
the viewing area. As you add features from different categories,
they will automatically be blended together.
To
revise your composite, click any feature in the viewing
screen and you will be presented with the options again.
Categories
include a range of age progression elements, including forehead,
eye, smile, mouth and chin lines. Also included are facial
markings such as scars, moles and tattoos, to add detail
to your composite.
Positioning
tools (#4) allow you to size and move features. You can
also choose between light, medium and dark hair, and flip
a hair style from left to right, or right to left. Note
that not all positioning tools can be used for all features.
For example, eyes can be moved closer or farther apart,
but made larger or smaller.
FACES
4.0 Main Screen
The
pull-down menus at the top of the FACES 4.0 EDU screen allow
you to save, open, export and print composites. Composites
are exported in JPEG format to use in standard word processing
or computer graphics programs such as Microsoft Word, Adobe
Photoshop and Paint. Exporting allows composites to be further
refined or adjusted, or to be added to print or web documents
such as mock police bulletins.
